We want to offer here some of the possible routes in Tuscany

Tuscany is wet from the beautiful waters of the Tyrrhenian Sea. Some of the most popular resort areas are those of the archipelago of the Elba island (and the nearby islands of Pianosa, Montecristo, north of the Capraia and Gorgona, Giglio to the south). Among the most beautiful areas are definitely the Argentario and the Park of Populonia.

If you like long sandy beaches far from the crowds of people the right place is undoubtedly the area between San Vincenzo and Donoratico. Going north we find them very clean waters just south of Livorno (from Castiglioncello to Quercianella up the so-called Hermit or Calafuria).

Less wild, most modern, the nearby town of Tirrenia and Marina di Pisa (with private beaches and public beaches) offer equipped centers and entertainment of all kinds.
Further north we find the Versilia (Viareggio, Forte dei Marmi and Marina di Pietrasanta) with its legendary nightlife and unique scenery of the Apuan Alps overlooking the sea.
In the middle of betrayal among the beginning of Pisa and Versilia are Marina Vecchia, which stretches from the mouth of the Serchio and Torre del Lago with sandy shoreline.

If you are interested in making beautiful walks, the Pisan hills are a good solution without having to push up the Apuan Alps. To the north of Pisa area Santallago on Monte Serra, or further south the rolling hills surrounding countries like Fauglia and Crespina.

The Regional Park of Migliarino-Massaciuccoli-San Rossore offers with its 23,115 hectares of green scenery of great beauty with nature trails of varying difficulty and length of wetlands, dunes and wooded strips along a road that winds up to the sea. Between animals, easily observable, the deer, often in small herds and wild boar, with a high presence of birds, especially during the spring migration (preferred staging point for waders).

Vicopisano enjoys a privileged position being able to easily reach the major cities of art, also by train from the nearby Cascina and Pontedera railway stations:

  • Pisa 18 km
  • Lucca 25 km
  • Livorno 30 km
  • Volterra 49 km
  • Firenze 79 km
  • Siena 94 km

Bicycle:

There are many bike paths in the cities of Pisa and in the periphery: it is an experience that we recommend without any doubt; and we offer our mountain bikes to our guests. Although with some small gaps it is possible to reach the city from our Bed & Breakfast directly along the path for bikes that runs along the river Arno.
Another solution is to ride just around our campaign (including Vicopisano, Buti and Calcinaia).
For those who love mountain biking the solutions are many: you can climb on the Pisan hills along the many lanes and paths.

Swimming:

The nearest swimming pool is located within the Spa complex of Uliveto Terme. The tank is not very large but the position of the complex (there are also many tennis courts), immediately behind the Lungomonte Pisano in a beautiful park makes it ideal for relaxing days away from the crowds.

Another swimming pool, with an Olympic pool (open only in summer) and a smaller one is located in Cascina, just off the highway FI-PI-LI, only 5km from our B & B.

At about 15 km there is the beautiful center of San Giuliano Terme, home of the famous spa.
